On site vs. Remote vs. Hybrid - What's the reality?
Lately, I've read conflicting articles, some say remote is dead while others say it's here to stay. What's the truth?
I looked into our data and here's what I found.
Of the 258,101 jobs on ZenSearch:
- On site = 53% (136,744 jobs)
- Remote = 28% (71,067 jobs)
- Hybrid = 19% (50,290 jobs)
Since we have jobs everywhere, I broke the data down by where we have the highest job concentrations: United States, Europe, India, and Canada. As you can see, it's mostly consistent, with India higher for On site and Canada higher for Remote and Hybrid.
I plan to dig into this more in upcoming posts, exploring how the ratio changes based on the type of role or industry.
About the Data
- All numbers as of 06/17/2024
- Jobs that don't have an explicit environment are assumed to be on-site
- This includes all open jobs including those that must be done in person, for example, physicians and hospital staff- Percentages have been rounded to the closest integer.
