Overview
The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides essential employment services to individuals who have recently been released from incarceration. Annually, around 8,000 to 9,000 participants engage with CEO, benefiting from transitional work crews that offer not only immediate income but also valuable experience while they work toward securing long-term employment. Established in the 1970s as a pilot initiative by the Vera Institute of Justice, CEO has evolved into the country's leading reentry employment organization, successfully placing over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals into full-time jobs since its inception. Committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, CEO fosters an environment that encourages applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience in the justice system. The organization emphasizes the importance of breaking down barriers to employment and supporting its clients in building stronger futures for themselves and their communities.
