Monday => Energy Up
Every Monday morning, I have a standing call with a colleague. We're both working on solving different aspects of this crazy and frustrating thing that is job searching in 2025.
We're both (ahem) older women in tech. Both of us are innovating with AI, blazing trails. I read an article this morning that discussed that the vast majority of people coding with AI are men, in fact, young men. We're proudly bucking that trend.
We've been meeting weekly for almost nine months, sharing struggles, solutions, and strategies. Building a friendship.
Our conversations are often tactical. How do we get to revenue? How do we promote our companies? How can we collaborate? We share articles, webinars, and tips.
Other times, it's more of a therapy session.
Some weeks, it's me who needs revving up. Weeks when I've been fighting with AI, or I'm questioning what business I have in founding a job search platform without an HR background and only my own experience as a guide. Second guessing every decision.
Today, it was my friend who needed a boost. Last week, she was rejected from a job she would have excelled at, after surviving multiple rounds, complete with glowing feedback. She had pictured herself already working there, and now was still thinking of the improvements and contributions she would've made.
As we ended the call, both a little low, she said two words that changed my day: ππ»π²πΏπ΄π π¨π½
So here I am, reminding you.
Whether you are newly unemployed or you've been searching for longer than the tenure at your last job, attitude matters.
There is not a lot of this process you can control, except how you choose to face each day.
Join me and face it with Energy Up!
