Almost every person I speak to asks me what the differences are between ZenSearch and LinkedIn. There are a lot.
At ZenSearch, our motivation is to help job seekers during one of the most frustrating and desperate times of their lives. LinkedIn... not so much.
Since ZenSearch ONLY shows jobs that match your preferences, EVERY JOB is what you're looking for, making them all great ones to apply to! Be as selective or flexible as you choose, it's your job seeking experience.
You can filter by role, salary, and remote or location—this should be table stakes for every job search tool, but unfortunately is not. In addition, you can filter by industry (to prioritize, only show, or exclude), by company (whether you have a "target list" or ones you never want to apply to), and even by keyword (skills, tools, or industry-specific terms).
LinkedIn, on the other hand, is motivated (and PAID) for clicks. Not applying, just clicking on a job.
Let me repeat that. They are compensated when you click on a job. That's why they don't care if the job is a good match for you. Why they hide crucial details about a job (behind a click). Why their job filters are horrible.
With ZenSearch, jobs link directly to a company's job board. This means no fake companies posting scam jobs. I have personally added all 10,267 companies to our database and know they're legitimate.
LinkedIn, conversely, is notorious for allowing scammers to post made-up jobs at imaginary companies.
ZenSearch refreshes job posts throughout the day. New opportunities are available within hours of being posted, and closed ones are removed. This provides you with the freshest jobs so your application will be at the top of the pile. And since you apply directly on the company's site, your application goes right to the hiring team.
Some jobs on LinkedIn have been hanging around for a looooong time and there's no clear way to tell (again—they are paid per click). When you apply through LinkedIn, there's a lag between when you hit Apply and when your application reaches the hiring team— a disadvantage in today's job market where there may be hundreds of applicants for a single role.
Finally, ZenSearch is...zen. We pride ourselves on being a calm, you might even say mindful, job search tool.
I know you've used LinkedIn. It's chaotic and overwhelming. 'Nuf said.
