Run for Something (RFS) is dedicated to empowering young, diverse progressives to run for state and local offices across the United States. Established in 2017, RFS tackles the underrepresentation of marginalized communities in government by building a robust candidate pipeline that reflects the country's demographics. The organization recruits and supports individuals, particularly those from historically excluded backgrounds, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to succeed in down-ballot elections. With nearly 150,000 recruits and over 1,000 elected officials, many of whom are women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA community, RFS is committed to transforming governance to be more equitable and representative. Their long-term efforts prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that their internal culture mirrors the mission they serve.
